So they ended the feud with Daniel Bryan not winning the title? Then put Big Show in the picture, they did a good job making people care about Big Show again but it was a huge anti-climax. Hopefully Bryan wins the Rumble or win the title at 'Mania, or else this was all just to make Triple H and Steph bigger heels.

Bryan will win the Rumble. The whole feud is so huge it stinks of ending at Wrestlemannia with Bryan winning the title after winning the Rumble to get there.
I don't know. He's won it twice now so I'm sure he'll be seen on that level and it'll find its way back to him sooner or later, but the switch to helping out Punk against the Wyatts is such a big change I'm not sure he's involved in that storyline anymore. Hopefully they can bring it all around and make it work.

Agree with chux, it seems like they got Bryan and Punk to a level they're happy with, and now are using them to help elevate the Wyatts. We'll see what happens, but yeah, sucks he didn't win. Dangerously close to "same old shit" territory
I'm still going with the Rumble win for Bryan. With the build up they've given it I'd be surprised if that's the end of it. They just need to give Orton someone else to fight for a bit otherwise we'd have endless Orton v Bryan matches.
I agree with Benjawi. Im sure Bryan will win at Mania and go on a decent run.

WrestleMania is still a really long way away. A lot can change by then, including Bryan's popularity. Sidebarring into a feud with the Wyatts (who have only feuded with Kane and Miz lately, nothing big) is a major step down. I hope he wins the Rumble or gets an equally big push another way, but I have little faith in WWE's long term planning.
I have no better predictions for the Rumble though, outside a Sheamus return win.

Their inability with long term feud planning is exactly why I think Bryan will win the Rumble. They wouldn't be able to keep the feud going that long so they need to take a break for something else, so that when it starts up again it'll seem a bit more fresh instead of people just wondering why Bryan is getting shot after shot. Sometimes they can get a long term feud right, sometimes. Not often, but this whole Bryan v Orton feud doesn't feel like it's finished.
Feuding Bryan and Punk with the Wyatts is a break from the feud whilst also giving the Wyatts a much needed push.
It also means that they can take the opportunity to now shove aside the Big Show story. If Orton and Bryan continued then Big Show would end up being a complete back story. They're capitalising on one whilst moving the other back a bit, and we'll end up seeing them switch again where Bryan becomes the main guy with Big Show dropping back. Big Show got "fired" for sticking up for Bryan in the end - it stinks of the feud continuing eventually.
Sure, if it works out like that it would make sense. I just don't trust that theory to work out so well. If they have a plan now for Bryan to win the Rumble, I fully expect them to change those plans at least three times before it happens.

I read Bryan's slight de-push is due to poor buyrates at Summerslam. They still like him and he'll get plenty of TV time, but don't expect him in the main event for a while

So Triple H was right all along.
How important are ratings and buy rates in this day and age anyway? I thought merchandising was the most important thing to WWE nowadays.

Makes no sense to blame Bryan for the lack of buyrates. Why doesn't Cena take any heat also? But their is no doubt that Bryan is over, he gets the biggest reaction every night it seems. I was just reading an article about how he was supposed to be on a card at a house show but for some reason he wasn't able to be on the card. The crowd was going ape shit because he wasn't there. He got the biggest reaction and wasn't even in the building.

They haven't given up on Daniel Bryan, and he will be at the top again. He made HBK tap out, you don't do that then fade back into mediocrity. I think he and Punk will probably have a great feud with the Wyatt's anyway, so long as Bray Wyatt involves himself more and it isn't just Punk/Bryan v Harper/Rowan.

That wasn't a match, though, doesn't mean that much to make HBK tap during a promo
I disagree. It was HBK essentially passing down the torch, in a roundabout way. Bryan made his teacher tap. He's become the master, so to speak.

I've heard that argument made, that Michaels taught him that "don't trust anyone" is the final lesson, and at the end Bryan made Shawn tap to show that he'd learned the lesson. It's a good point, and it's as good as Bryan is ever going to get since Michaels looks unlikely to come back for a match any time soon. But I have to agree that someone tapping outside a match means very little. No one is talking about the tap now, no one is talking about Shawn at all. It felt just like a way to give Bryan as much as possible without giving him the belt.

After watching Raw and reading the spoilers for SD this week, I have figured out my biggest problem with this run so far. It's been so all encompassing of the entire WWE Universe that it seems like it has been going on for more than 3 weeks. It feels like they have pushed 3 months of a feud into 3 weeks and all the while, there hasn't been even the slightest bit of weakness shown on the part of The Corporation. They castrate the entire roster, minus CM Punk, they make everyone sit there while Bryan gets beat to shit every week. Big Show can't do anything. Ziggler gets smashed every week. Yet all the while, the only wins that the good guys get is when Bryan makes fun of HHH and Orton prior to being beaten up by 4 guys. Now this storyline is overflowing into the Punk/Heyman feud which shouldn't happen. If there isn't going to be a huge turnaround, they should never have one storyline that takes up the entire show.
Night of Champions is on the 15th. We have 2 Smackdowns and one Raw until then and why would anyone drop $55 bucks to watch it when there is been no reason to think that DB has even a remote shot at taking the belt from Orton? He hasn't gotten one up on The Corp or Orton. Not even a little bit. All that anyone can see happening at this point is a replay of the last 3 weeks. DB gets the Yes! Lock on Orton and the Shield causes the DQ or Orton taps but The Shield beats DB down and Triple H restarts the match and Orton hits the RKO and wins. It's becoming a formula. When the same thing happens every week, you have no reason to believe it will be different. That's my problem.
